Welcome!
I am an applied economist and study a diverse range of topics in labour and development economics with a special focus on public policies. My current research is on labour markets in West Africa and how individuals make decisions about education, job search, work and migration in that context. Some of my past work analysed the impact of maternity leave policies and how different skills shape individual's labour market outcomes in high-income countries. I work as a Senior Lecturer (Advanced Assistant Professor) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS Business School, Economics Discipline Group) and am a research fellow at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in Bonn (Germany). Prior to joining UTS, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne. I hold a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute. NEWS: My co-authors Romuald Meango, Richard Moussa and I were awarded a large STEG grant (£97,000) for our research project "Labour market expectations and job search of young graduates in Cote d'Ivoire"!
